The Portuguese Gilt Sunburst Mirror (ca. 1925–1935) is an elegant example of Iberian giltwood craftsmanship. Hand-carved in solid wood and finished with traditional water gilding in fine gold leaf over red bole, it retains an authentic patina with fine craquelure, warm golden tones, and gentle edge wear—age-consistent details that add depth and warmth.

The radial composition alternates rays of different lengths, clearly resolved in the carving and unified by a stable, well-balanced gilding tone. The deeply carved rays create a lively play of light and shadow, enhancing the sculptural quality of the composition.
