More information
This Royal Dux Bohemia Art Nouveau centerpiece, produced between 1905 and 1918, belongs to the Eichler period and bears the characteristic pink triangle with the letter “E”, confirming Austro-Hungarian manufacture prior to 1918. The absence of the “Czechoslovakia” mark further secures its early dating.
The composition features two hand-modeled nymphs: one seated on the rim holding a string instrument, and another rising from the organic base with both arms reaching upward. Their poses merge naturally into a structure of intertwined roots, stems, and leaves that create a dynamic upward movement.
The asymmetrical bowl, with its undulating edge, combines matte and satin finishes on the exterior and a fully glazed interior. The color palette—ivory, moss green, honey ochre, and soft matte gold—is typical of early 20th-century Royal Dux Bohemia Art Nouveau porcelain. Fine modeling is evident in the hands, facial details, and drapery folds, with original polychromy perfectly preserved.
