Antique bronze oil lamp, made in Italy during the 19th century. This unique piece stands out for its exquisite eclectic ornamentation, combining elements of the Empire, Neoclassical and Renaissance styles.
Its square-shaped base has two levels and is supported by lion’s claw feet, while its central column exhibits reliefs of leaves, flowers, clusters and intertwined stems.
The precisely conceived oil reservoir boasts four elephant heads supporting the lights, as well as a central lion’s head with a ring between its jaws.
The four lights, equipped with individual nozzles, are ornamented with small lion heads at the base.
The combination of styles, the unusual presence of lions and elephants in the decoration, the richness of the details and the quality of the bronze, make this a unique piece.
It is in good condition, with a nice patina.
