E. Picault pair of French cassolettes 19th century
Important mantelpiece that includes two elegant covered “cassolettes” vases, cast in spelter and patinated in brown and gilt bronze, second half of the 19th century.
The two vases are baluster-shaped with two handles. They are decorated with a rich ornamentation of fluting, vegetal and laurel wreaths and finely carved bodies depicting classical scenes from Ancient Greece or Rome.
They are raised on square bases of black marble veined in white with four points of support with detailed vegetal decoration.
Signed E. PICAULT (Émile Louis Picault), France, second half of the 19th century.
Its state of preservation is excellent, without cracks or repairs with a minimal trace of the passage of time.
They will certainly elevate the decor of your home.
