Antique tin-glazed earthenware plate decorated in cobalt blue on a white ground, belonging to the Delft tradition of the Netherlands and dating to the first half of the 18th century (circa 1700–1730). This antique delft plate is a representative example of 18th-century Delft blue and white pottery.
The center features the characteristic “bloemenmand” (flower basket) motif, a symmetrical composition of stylized flowers and leaves arranged in an ornamental container. This design is one of the most recognizable within early Delftware, valued for its balance and strong decorative presence, and enhances the appeal of this antique delft plate in the international market.
The rim is richly decorated with large lobed cartouches alternating with vegetal elements and scrollwork, creating a dynamic and visually striking composition, ideal for both collecting and wall display.
The piece displays the typical characteristics of authentic Delftware: hand-painted cobalt blue applied under the glaze, with tonal variations and slight bleeding, along with a tin glaze showing minor irregularities and firing marks. The edge shows age-appropriate wear consistent with its period.
On the reverse, there is a blue underglaze mark executed in a simple, quick stroke, not attributable with certainty to a specific factory, but consistent with 18th-century Delft production practices.
